Why I Started The Handy Husband
As a woman, I know what it feels like to hesitate before opening the front door to someone you don’t know. I lived alone for years and struggled with who to call for things I couldn’t do myself.
Will they be respectful? Will they talk down to me? Will they take advantage of me? Will I feel comfortable having them in my home? Will they be creepy?
That uncertainty and fear shouldn’t be part of hiring someone to repair a faucet, mount a television, or help with a project that has been sitting unfinished for months.
I created The Handy Husband because I wanted to create what I didn't have access to- quality craftsmanship without sacrificing comfort, communication, or peace of mind. A handyman service that was specifically tailored to any woman living alone.

Meet the Family Behind The Handy Husband
The Handy Husband is a family-owned business built around the belief that women living alone deserve both excellent craftsmanship and an experience that feels comfortable from beginning to end, with safety and communication at the forefront.
Scott brings more than 40 years of construction experience and previously owned and operated his own contracting company for over 35 years. He has worked on everything from everyday household repairs to major construction and remodeling projects.
Scott worked personally with his son to teach him the carpentry trade, but more importantly, how to work with clients so that the experience is an enjoyable one.
But what truly makes Scott and his son, Isiah, different is the way they treat people. They both bring a sense of calm, integrity, experience, and genuinely care about the job being done correctly, and their client's happiness.
Together, our family created The Handy Husband to offer Boise-area homeowners something we felt was missing: a handyman service primarily focused towards single and elderly women living alone that combines skill and dependability with kindness, communication, and respect.
We don’t just want to complete your project. We want to become the family you feel comfortable calling whenever something in your home needs attention.
